Meet Ashley
Ashley is a PhD student in the Clinical Psychology Program (Adult Stream) at York University and has been an associate at Dr. Gayle M. Goldstein & Associates since 2022. She holds an Honours Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Neuroscience from Wilfrid Laurier University and completed her Master’s research on a couples-based intervention for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Her doctoral dissertation explores the psychological benefits of mattering (feeling valued) and risk factors associated with anti-mattering (feeling invisible) among high school students.
Ashley has extensive assessment experience with both children and adults, and recently completed a practicum placement at the Anxiety Treatment and Research Centre at St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton. Clinically, she is skilled in cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT) skills, and incorporates principles from acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). She takes a compassionate, strength-based approach to her therapy, emphasizing collaboration and meeting clients where they are at. She has a strong background working with neurodivergent adolescents and adults, and provides support for a wide range of concerns including anxiety disorders, PTSD, relationship challenges, and emotion regulation.
