Meet Grace
Grace Demerling is a Registered Psychotherapist at Dr. Gayle M. Goldstein & Associates. Grace holds a Masters degree in Counselling Psychology from the University of Western Ontario and is a member of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). She also holds a Masters degree in Educational Psychology, specialized in Special Education, from the University of Victoria.
Grace works with children, adolescents, and adults, having extensive experience working alongside the neurodivergent and disability communities in clinical roles as well as in community and academic support positions. Grace supports clients who are Autistic, ADHDers, have learning disabilities, intellectual disabilities, Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, and Anxiety.
Grace uses an eclectic approach using Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy to create a safe space for people of all neurotypes and varying support needs. Grace takes a client-centred approach, ensuring that therapeutic tools are intertwined with clients’ special interests, values, and that client goals are always centred. Grace supports clients with emotional regulation, executive functioning, anxiety, self-harm, life transitions, self-advocacy skills, while also helping clients navigate grief, trauma, and the emotional impact of living in a world that is often not designed with neurodivergent individuals in mind. Grace also supports caregivers through navigating a child’s diagnosis, government funding and social support programs, life transitions, and school advocacy.
Grace’s goal as a Registered Psychotherapist is to meet clients where they are, help them develop new ways of coping with distress, and support self-exploration while honouring and preserving the qualities that make them who they are.
