Dr. Lauren Poulin
Psychologist in Supervised Practice
​​Dr. Lauren Poulin is a Clinical and Counselling Psychologist in Supervised Practice with the College of Psychologists of Ontario. She holds a Master’s and Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from York University, and completed her pre-doctoral internship at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH), in both the Borderline Personality Disorder Clinic and Work Stress and Health program. She has also held positions at St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton in the Anxiety Treatment and Research Clinic, as well as various counselling centres. Her area of specialization is adult mental health (ages 18-65), and she provides both psychological assessment and therapy. In therapy, Lauren works with individuals presenting with a wide variety of concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, emotion dysregulation, interpersonal difficulties, and coping with the stresses of daily life. Lauren approaches therapy from a client-centered and humanistic foundation, integrating techniques from various treatment styles as needed. She is trained in various treatment styles, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), emotion focused therapy (EFT), dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), and cognitive processing therapy (CPT). In assessment, Lauren has been trained in mental health assessments, psychoeducational assessments, and ADHD and autism assessments. Her goal is to make these assessments both informative and therapeutic, so clients leave with a better understanding of themselves. Across all of her work, Lauren aims to provide care that is affirming to diverse populations, and she excels in creating a non-judgemental, supportive, and validating therapeutic environment for her clients.
